Ivasion take two from Flint Hills

Calvary Baptist -
The Derby Invasion
Men's Varsity raced to a 20-4 first quarter lead and cruised to a 76-35 victory over the Flint Hills Christian Warriors Saturday afternoon at Calvary Baptist. All 9 Derby players scored in this contest as coach Brian Swallow freely subsituted throughout the game. Sean Michaelson led the scoring attack with 18 points followed by Brandon Swallow with 12. Hunter Davis came off the bench to score 11, a career high on varisity for Davis. Kyle Barger chipped in 9 and Josh May and Tommy Leach added 8 each.
In Women's action the
Lady Invasion pitched an 11-0 shutout in the first quarter in route to a 34-18 victory over the Lady Warriors. Derby alternated full court pressure with a tight zone that did not allow a field goal in the first half. Audri Vrbas led the Invasion with 9 points followed by Debbie King with 8 and Leah Pauli with 7. Bekah Mertens came off the bench to lead Derby with 6 rebounds. The Lady Warriors were led by Victoria Thomas with 7 points and 12 rebounds.
