2008-2009 Basketball Begins

Invasion
Basketball has begun practice for both men's and women's teams and is busily preparing for the '08-09 season. Much excitement surrounds the program including the recent announcement from our board of directors that Calvary Baptist
Church in Derby will serve as host
for the Varsity
and Jr High men's and women's home
games for the upcoming season. Calvary Baptist is in the final stages of completing construction on an expansion that includes a gymnasium, locker rooms and kitchen facilities at the church located at Rock Road and 63rd St. South in Derby.
We are also pleased to announce that the Derby Invasion varsity men have been ranked #8 in the pre-season poll released by the National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championships (NCHBC). NCHBC holds the largest homeschool basketball tournament in America with over 300 teams represented in 2008.
This ranking will be put to the test early on as our varsity men travel to
Springfield, Missouri in Mid November for the NCHBC Tip Off Classic. This tournament features some of the top homeschool teams in the country including several ranked teams from last year's National tournament.
