Invasion men extend winning streak to 8 with victory at Chanute Christian

The Derby men traveled to Chanute on Tuesday Feb 12th and scored a 67-48 win over Chanute Christian behind 19 points from Josh May and 17 from Brandon Swallow. Both May and Swallow had also had double figures in rebounding. For May, it was his 5th consecutive double-double and capped a late season surge for the sophmore post player. Sean Michaelson chipped in 10 points and Kyle Barger and Thomas Leach added 9 each as the Invasion finished the regular season with a 16-5 record.Chanute was led by Kyle Bilky with a game high 27 points including 10 in the fourth quarter.
Up next for the Derby men will be the KCAA tournament to be held February 21-23 in Wichita. The Invasion men are seeded third and are busily preparing for this tournament which features the top Homeschool and Christian schools in Kansas. This will also be the last opportunity to see the Derby men in action in Wichita this season. After the KCAA tournament, the Invasion will travel to Lebanon, Missouri for the Gateway regional tournament then two weeks later the men will travel to Oklahoma City to participate in the National Christian Homeshool Basketball tournament.
Everyone is encouraged to come out and support the Invasion as they look forward to tournament time 2008!
